Frequently Asked Questions

Insurance/Payment

Insurance and Payment

Yes, we take insurance. We will verify your benefits before the end of your initial visit. We do ask that you present us with your most recent insurance information.

We also request that you pay any required co-payment or co-insurance at the time of your visit. We accept major credit cards, debit cards, checks and cash.

We are in-network providers with most commercial and federal insurance companies that have policies in Maine.  Currently, that list includes:

  • Medicare – part B (and nearly all Medicare Advantage and secondary coverage plans)
  • Maine Community Health Options (MCHO)
  • Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield (and any other BC/BS product)
  • Aetna
  • Harvard Pilgrim
  • UnitedHealthcare
  • Martin’s Point
  • Worker’s Compensation
  • MedNet
  • DirigoChoice
  • MaineSense

We accept other private insurance plans not listed above as out-of-network providers.

If you have any insurance or payment questions, please don’t hesitate to ask us.

We are located in the Breakwater Marketplace on Route 1 in Rockland. The building is fully accessible for individuals requiring a ramp, elevator, or ADA-compliant restrooms.

Our clinic is on the fourth floor: our view is truly spectacular! Enter the building through the main entrance on the south side. The elevator and stairs are on the right as you enter the lobby. When you arrive on the fourth floor, make an immediate left off of the elevator or stairwell into our front door. If you require a wheelchair escort, please call us at 593-6682 and we’ll be happy to pick you up in the main lobby.

Miscellaneous

  • Can I come to your practice, even if my doctor referred me somewhere else?
    • Yes.  Period.  It’s your body.  It’s your choice.  It really is that simple.
  • Do I need a referral from my doctor?
    • By Maine law, you do not need anyone to refer you to therapy.  We can evaluate and treat you without a referral.  However, most insurance plans still require a physician referral in order for your services to be covered.  Either way, it’s a good idea that your doctor knows you will be seeing us for therapy.
  • Will my insurance pay for this?
    • Yes, in most cases.  Most insurance plans have some level of physical therapy benefits.  The exact level of coverage depends entirely on what plan you have.  You can find more information on our Insurance/Payment page.
  • How long will my appointments be?
    • We spend an average of 45 minutes with you.  Some appointments last an hour.  We know you are busy and it’s hard to find an hour in your day, but your health is worth it.
  • What should I bring with me to my appointment?
    • Please bring any paperwork you have from your doctor, a current list of your medications, and your insurance cards.  If we are seeing you for a leg problem, please bring shorts.  Otherwise, any comfortable, loose clothing will be just fine.
